Born in the Netherlands, he was a 15 year-old Dutch high school student during the rise of the Nazi occupation in Europe. He repeatedly escapes capture, outsmarting and outrunning the Nazis an incredible ten times. As hiding places became extremely difficult to find and with the help of the Resistance, Jack managed to escape to France, where he became involved in espionage with the super secret, O.S.S. (Office of the Strategic Services - which later became the C.I.A.).
 

After completing an impossible mission, Jack is mandated by the O.S.S. to the United States where he enlists in the U.S. Army Counter Intelligence Corps. On Dday+2, Jack and his team of agents landed on Utah Beach and began following the U.S. forces that liberated France and moved into Germany. One of his top responsibilities was to seek out, interrogate and arrest Nazi operatives and war criminals to bring them to justice.
 

His journey from hunted survivor to American intelligence agent reflects extraordinary resilience, courage, and determination. Throughout his life, Jack has dedicated himself to sharing the lessons of freedom, survival, and leadership with audiences around the world. As a Holocaust survivor, liberator, World War II veteran, accomplished speaker, and author, he continues to inspire future generations through his testimony and public appearances.
